‘Govt serious about COVID-19 pandemic’

Hetauda, March 18 Bagmati Province Chief Minister Dormani Poudel today said the province government was serious about the coronavirus epidemic and possible disaster that could follow. Speaking at the Provincial Assembly meeting of Bagmati Province in Hetauda today, CM Poudel said public awareness programme related to coronavirus had to be implemented. He said help desks had been established to prevent the risk of coronavirus. CM Poudel said necessary manpower had been kept on standby. “Hospitals have also been readied to manage treatment facility to the infected if the virus struck,” he informed. The chief minister also said a separate ward with 40 beds would be established in cooperation with Armed Police Force. He said the process had been forwarded to prepare an emergency camp as per the plan. “Preparations have been completed to manage check-up facilities in the border points of the province,” he informed. The CM said the province was prepared to control the possible spread of the virus in coordination with the federal and local governments.
