Three mayors of Lalitpur, including Chiribabu infected

KATHMANDU, SEPT 26 Three mayors of Lalitpur district have tested positive for coronavirus. The infected includes Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City Chiribabu Maharjan, Godawari Municipality’s Mayor Gajendra Maharjan and Mahalaxmi Municipality’s Mayor Rameshwar Shrestha. Rameshwor has been undergoing treatment at KIST Hospital for the last 11 days. He had been infected during the early days of the lockdown in April. He had later tested negative, but was again infected. LMC’s Mayor Maharjan underwent PCR test two days ago. He has high fever and severe headache. Maharjan, who has migraine problem, said the pain was different from migraine attack. He has pain in the neck too, and is not in right form. He is in home isolation. His report came out positive yesterday. Godawari’s Mayor Gajendra also tested positive for the virus the second time. He has been in home isolation since Monday. He has high fever and body ache. Likewise, Mahalaxmi Municipality Mayor Shrestha has high fever and respiratory problem. He tested positive for coronavirus on Wednesday the second time. He is in home isolation. A total of 1,996 people in Lalitpur district have contracted the virus so far with additional 78 cases today. More than 1,293 of them were from LMC as of yesterday.
