KATHMANDU: The main opposition party Nepali Congress has called an all party meeting this afternoon. Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba called the meeting to discuss Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's shocking move yesterday to dissolve the House of Representatives and call mid-term elections. The all-party meeting is expected to take place at 4:00 pm at NC's central office in Sanepa, Lalitpur. It has been learnt that Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Janata Samajwadi Party, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, among others, have been asked to attend. PM Oli recommended dissolution of the parliament and President Bidya Devi Bhandari approved it within hours. It was then announced that the general elections will be held on April 30 and May 10. The Prime Minister's move comes at a time when the intra-party feud within NCP had heightened and he stood cornered within his own party. Lawmakers close to the respective Oli and Dahal factions are meeting today to discuss the series of events that have transpired since yesterday's emergency cabinet meeting.
