42-MW Mistri khola hydro project to generate power within a month

MYAGDI: The under-construction 42-MW Mistri Khola hydropower project is all set to generate power within a month as its preparations are in the final stage. The project which is based in Annapurna-4, Narchyang of Myagdi district said it has completed its stipulated tasks related to dam, tunnel construction, installation of penstock pipe and power house. Project's consultant engineer Diwakar Khadka said the constructed structures and installed equipment are on trial now. 'The tasks related to construction of structures and installation have been completed. Now is the time to test whether the structures and equipment put in place are functional or not', engineer Khadka said adding that the newly constructed power house will also be put on test. The project was initiated on 13 June 2016 and successfully constructed 2270.5 meter long tunnel on April 2019. Its power house has been constructed on the left side of Kaligandaki River based in Besigaun of Narchyang in the district. Mountain Energy Nepal Limited is the promoter of the project and estimated cost is around Rs 5.64 billion.
