PM Oli led faction schedules general convention on November 18 next year

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli led central committee members of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) have decided to hold the general convention on November 18, 2021. The decision was made during the meeting chaired by the PM held in Baluwatar today. The meeting was called by PM Oli after dissolving the House of Representatives and announcing mid-term elections. The same meeting has also formed a general convention organisers' central committee comprising of 1,199 members. In the meeting, former party spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha was removed from his post to be replaced by Minister of Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali. Meanwhile, NCP's other co-chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal led faction of the party has also called for a separate central committee meeting comprising CC members close to their faction, on Tuesday itself.
