KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that Supreme Court’s verdict on House of Representatives (HoR) dissolution will be acceptable to the party irrespective of the outcome. Addressing a protest rally organized by the Nepali Congress in Kathmandu, the former Prime Minister said NC would accept the verdict no matter what the outcome would be. “Government’s move is wrong. The case is sub judice in the SC. Since the judiciary is an independent body, its verdict will be acceptable to the NC irrespective of the result,” he added. NC won’t threaten the judiciary for a certain verdict, said Deuba adding that NC abides by the court’s verdict. Saying that the judiciary was the last resort for seeking justice, he stated that his party was waiting for the SC’s verdict. Stating that NC was the party that agreed to court’s judgment even in the Panchayat era, Deuba announced that NC would contest the upcoming polls without forging alliance with other political parties. “We can confirm our strength while contesting polls without making alliance. It will be easier for people to express their mandate as well,” the NC chief said. NC leaders Rama Poudel, Durlav Thapa, Ganeshman Chakradhar, Jiban Khatri and others expressed their opinions at the protest rally pledging to continue the protest against the government move to dissolve the HoR.
