KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is expected to address a meeting of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) leaders and cadres from the far-west close to his faction in Kathmandu, today. PM Oli's presence has been expected at the meeting and training programme of party members based in Sudurpaschim Province, today afternoon at Babarmahal-based Karki Banquet. In recent times, the location has been known as the meeting spot of the other NCP faction led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Madhav Kumar Nepal. The ruling NCP had split on December 22 after Prime Minister Oli recommended to dissolve the House of Representative on December 20. The recommendation was then swiftly approved by President Bidya Devi Bhandari and what followed was the announcement of mid-term elections in April-May 2021. The Election Commission, however, has yet to officiate the split. Both the rival factions have been claiming their authenticity and clamouring for the party name and election symbol.
