Province 1 CM suspends 15 lawmakers in response to being removed as parliamentary party leader

KATHMANDU: In response to Dahal-Nepal faction's action against him, Chief Minister of Province 1 Sher Dhan Rai today suspended 15 Provincial Assembly lawmakers. The other group had removed Sher Dhan Rai as the leader of the parliamentary party and elected Bhim Acharya to the post on Thursday itself. In response, CM Rai who belongs to the Oli faction suspended leaders Bhim Acharya, former Minister Indra Angbo - who was removed from office on Saturday, and eleven others for a period of three months. Other lawmakers facing suspension are Lila Ballabh Adhikari, Sabitra Regmi, Jiwan Ghimire, Kusum Kumari Shrestha, Lakshman Tiwari, Bijay Bishwas, Rajendra Rai, Tanka Angbuhang, Dhiren Sharma, Kul Prasad Samba, Yashoda Adhikari, Upen Ghimire, Mohan Khadka. The CM had sought explanation from the dissenting side for filing a no-confidence motion against him, the failure to provide which has been cited as the reason for his action.
