Sandeep Lamichhane to play first match of Big Bash on Saturday

KATHMANDU: Nepali leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane will play the first match of the season in the ongoing Big Bash League in Australia on Saturday. His manager Raman Adhikari confirmed that he will play against the Melbourne Stars on behalf of Hobart Hurricanes. Lamichhane had missed initial six games of this season due to coronavirus infection. Lamichhane came out of quarantine on Wednesday and is currently engaged in regular practice. His team Hobart Hurricanes is preparing to play its seventh match tomorrow. Hobart has emerged victorious in four out of the six matches it has played so far. It is in the third spot among a total of eight teams in the league. The match is to start at 11.45 am local time. This is Sandeep's third stint in the Big Bash. He had played for Melbourne Stars in two seasons of the league prior to this. He had played in total 20 matches and taken 26 wickets in the earlier seasons.
