412 new Covid-19 cases registered on Thursday; nationwide tally hits 263,605

KATHMANDU: Nepal on Thursday reported 412 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 263,605. Of the total cases, 182 are females while 230 are males. In the last 24 hours, 251 cases surfaced in Kathmandu valley. The capital hosts the highest number of active cases. Likewise, 483 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry. As of today, 256,644 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 97.4 per cent. Nepal’s active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 5,058. Meanwhile, four more fatalities from the disease have taken the total death-toll to 1,903. According to the health ministry, 5,132 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 1,969,292 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date. Currently, there are 342 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal. On Wednesday, Nepal’s coronavirus case count reached 263,193 with 409 newly confirmed cases. Globally, over 86.5 million people have contracted the virus till date while over 1.85 million deaths have been reported. Meanwhile, over 62 million people have recovered from the disease while over 22 million cases are still active.
