Kathmandu, July 25 :

Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF) and LG products of Chaudhary Group joined hands for the Players of the Year award to be held on July 31.

Niranjan Rajbanshi, President of NSJF, and Ramesh Shrestha, Manager - Sales at Chaudhary Group, signed the Memorandum of Understanding at a function today. As per the MoU, LG will provide Rs 50,000 along with trophies and gift hampers worth Rs 50,000 to the NSJF for the annual programme. In return, the NSJF will honour the winners with the LG Players of the Year awards.

“It is an opportunity for us and we would like to thank the NSJF for this,” said Shrestha. “It’s a part of Chaudhary Group’s social responsibility and we are positive to continue in the years to come,” he added.

Thanking Chaudhary Group for their help in the much-awaited programme of the NSJF, Rajbanshi said that the gesture would boost not only the forum but also the whole of the sporting circle. “The programme have been a grand success in the past and we will try to make it more lively this year,” said Rajbanshi. “I hope Chaudhary Group will continue to sponsor the event in the days to come,” he added. NSJF spokesperson Ajay Phuyal and member Prakash Timalsina also spoke on the occasion.

The NSJF has increased the categories to five this year adding the best young player in women’s section and lifetime achievement award to that of last year’s best players — male and female — and the best young player in men’s section.
