Kathmandu, July 30 :

Dabur Nepal announced to sponsor the SAG-bound taekwondo team here today.

Director of Dabur Nepal Iswori Rana and Nepal Taekwondo Association (NTA) vice president Sunil Malla signed the Memorandum of Understanding. As per the agreement, Dabur Nepal will provide Rs 250,000 to NTA for their preparation for the South Asian Games (SAG) to be held in Sri Lanka next month.

Managing director of Dabur Nepal Rukma Shumsher Rana, who is also the president of NTA and Nepal Olympic Committee, said that Taekwondo has always been the forerunners with regards to winning the international honour. “The association of Dabur Nepal and Taekwondo is not new,” Rana said, announcing that the company would render its support during the Asian Games as well. The Asian Games will be held in Qatar later this year.

“I am confident that Taekwondo will stand distinct from the rest of the disciplines in the SAG in terms of winning medals,” Rana said. He also assured that taekwondo would bring better results than the 9th SAF Games. Nepal had won seven gold medals in ninth SAF Games, six of them in taekwondo alone.
