Founder leader of the Nepali Congress (NC) and ex-prime minister Krishna Prasad Bhattarai has requested party president and former PM Girija Prasad Koirala to make serious consultations before taking any steps in the context of the fluid political situation in the country.
My colleague NC president Girija Prasad Koirala also understands the importance of unity, cordiality, tolerance and restraint in the NC party, Bhattarai said in an appeal issued here on Saturday. Since its very inception, the NC has tried to establish certain norms, values and culture in the country, he said, adding that he has dedicated all his life, intellect, power and energy for the sake of nurturing these norms and values and cultures.
Since I went to the UK for health check-up, many developments have taken place in the country during my absence, Bhattarai said, adding that the nation is well aware of all this.
The NC central disciplinary committee has suspended PM Deuba even from his general membership, Bhattarai said, adding this is not a minor issue. During a telephonic conversation with president Koirala this evening, Bhattarai, is understood to have requested president Koirala to not take any decision in haste but do so only on the basis of mutual goodwill and understanding.
