The youngest contestant at the Lux Beauty Star 2004 contest is Arathis Gurung. At 17, she still retains her childlike innocence and loves fun and frolic. She stands at 5’4” and says her interest include modelling and swimming. Between giggles, she says, “This is the first time I am participating in a contest like this. It’s like a dream come true. It was great walking on the ramp. But I must admit that I was a bit nervous!” Arathis is fun to be with, bubbly and always jabbering about everything under the sun. “I am excited about my stay in Hyatt,” she says.

This Virgo recently completed her ‘O’ levels from Novel Academy, Pokhara and has no further plans to continue studies. She is excited about making her début in the world of modelling. “I want to be a model and I’m interested in learning everything I can about beauty and grooming,” she says.

Arathis loves window-shopping, reading ‘Cosmopolitan’ and watching movies. Her favourite actor is Shah Rukh Khan and actress — Amisha Patel. She does not forget to mention that she watched ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ thrice and is planning to see the latest Shah Rukh movie ‘Mein Ho Naa’ as soon as possible. This damsel is no fitness freak. “I love eating and don’t believe in dieting. The Lux Beauty Star will be held on May 22. Watch this space for the countdown.
