KATHMANDU: Purbanchal, Gulmeli Yuva Club, Nightingale Sports Club and Armed Police Force (APF) Officers’ Club won their respective matches at the Dhorpatan Blue Sky Cup Volleyball League Championship here today. Despite winning the first two sets, Purbanchal fought hard to beat Bode Sports Club 25-15, 25-21, 23-25, 13-25, 18-16 and Gulmeli Yuva defeated Fulpati Sewa Samaj 25-22, 25-22, 23-25, 23-25, 15-13. Likewise, Nightingale edge past Wild Sports Club 25-18, 25-15, 25-23 and APF beat Karunakeswor Yuva Club 25-12, 25-15, 25-12. — HNS

Taekwondo tourney

KATHMANDU: Nepal International Taekwondo Federation is organising the fourth National Taekwondo Championship on September 17-19 in Kathmandu. In all, 85 players will vie for 35 gold medals. Apart from the team championship trophy, the organisers has set aside best male and female award along with most discipline team award. Best players will be picked up for closed camp training as preparation for the Asian Championship to be held on October 9-14 in New Delhi, the organisers said. — HNS
