KATHMANDU: The Valley Jam at 1905 on October 15 was a classic affair. Not only that the bands had an endless repertoire of their own mind-blowing compositions, but they also gave a testimony to what music can do when it oozes out through the spirit.

The Amarawati Garden provided the perfect backdrop for the musical evening, as the Canadian band Francois Carrier Trio and Andreas Hessen Schei and Hildre Marrie Kjersem from Norway entertained the crowd till the wee hours. The venue was jam-packed before the concert really began and as the musical overture began with the guitar riffs, it not only wowed the crowd but also had them jiving to the jolly beats.

All in all, the Valley Jam provided an insight into the talents of the artistes who not only had a flair for good music but also the flamboyance to improvise on stage with the same éclat.

The Valley Jam was one of the events organised as part of the Surya Classic Jazzmandu 2006 presented by Upstairs Ideas.
