Miss Hong Kong donates cash, logistics to destitutes

Kathmandu, November 4:

Miss Hong Kong-2005 Purnima Gurung today donated cash Rs 75,000 and logistics to Buddhist Child Centre at Jorpati.

Gurung donated Rs 75,000 in cash, 20 sets of quilt, 34 bed sheets, 34 pillow covers, carpet and toys worth Rs 15,000 to the children of the Child Centre. Miss Hong Kong-2005 Gurung said the cash was collected from various cultural shows organised in Hong Kong.

Gurung handed over the cash and logistics to Hridayesh Tripathi, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supply and the minister handed over them to Durga Mainali, chairperson of the Child Centre.

Tripathi announced that he would donate cash Rs 5,100 to the Child Centre to help make life of the children easy.

On the occassion Tripathi said that there was need to pay attention to the conflict-hit children.

“Government will make plan for the victims of insurgency after the peace talks are settled.” Major General Rajendra Thapa also promised to donate Rs 10,000 for the welfare of the children.
