Some 27 villagers were injured, seven critically, in a clash over the issue of opening a madarasa at Shreepurjabdi in Sunsari today.

The clash erupted among residents of the Muslim Basti at Shreepurjabdi village development committee-7, Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Sunsari, Yadav Raj Khanal, said.

Firoj Miyan, Abdul Miyan, Akbar Hussein, Ahabaklam Miyan, Ismail Miyan, Mehboob Alam, Akbul Miyan, Mahadur Rehman, Alipur Rehman, Hastipur Rehman, Khar-adul Rehman, Abdul Madin, Firod Miyan, Abdul Khalil Miyan were among those injured, he said.
