Two cases of thefts recorded in Valley

Kathmandu, November 15:

Property worth Rs 1.7 million was looted from two different places in Kathmandu early today morning, police said.

A group of four persons armed with khukuris today looted property worth Rs 1.6 million from the house of Bishnu Bahadur Dangol at Bhimsesthan, Kathmandu, this morning.

According to police, the armed group overpowered the family members of Dangol and made

away with Rs 1.5 million and 10 tolas of golden jewellery from the house. The incident

occurred at around 2:30 this morning.

There were only two persons — Dangol and his wife — when the incident occurred. At Dhapasi, a group of 15 unidentified persons looted property worth Rs 100,000 from

the house of Shashindra Shrestha at Dhapasi village development committee-3 early this morning.

Police said that the looters armed with khukuris beat up the security guard of the house Nara Bahadur Karki and made away with Rs 15,000 from the house. They also made away with Rs 4,000 from personal drivers and supervisor of Shrestha.

The armed group made away with two tolas of golden chain, two and half tolas of golden necklace, one tola of golden ring, half tola of diamond ring and three wrist watches from the house.
