Rajbiraj, May 14:
Two children have died of diarrohea since the second week of Baishak and that the soaring temperature and ill sanitation has caused the increase in number of patients being admitted in the Sagarmatha Zonal hospital for diarrhoea since the past three weeks, it is reported.
Yaspendra Yadav, assistant health worker (AHW) at the emergency department of the hospital, said that the delayed arrival of the patients to the hospital makes it very difficult to cure them. Another AHW Jaya Krishna Grumaita said that two children have died of diarrhoea since the second week of Baisakh.
Yadav added that lack of proper and adequate bed in the emergency section has compelled them to treat seven to eight patients on the floor. The emergency section of the Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital has 15 beds and statistics show that 15-20 patients suffering from diarrhoea, pneumonia visit the section daily. More than 300 children have been treated for diarrhoea this week only, it was informed.
