ICAO team in Nepal

Kathmandu, November 19:
The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) team arrived here yesterday to observe aviation safety in Nepal, said the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).
The team is expected to discuss issues on aviation safety with the government officials, CAAN authorities and airline operators.
Two members of the team Fareed Ali Shah and Roger Mulbery are expected to discuss on various issues related to aviation safety with CAAN and the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Ratish Chandra Lal Suman, chief of the Aviation Safety Department of CAAN said.
“ICAO team members will discuss with the authorities concerned regarding issues pertaining to safety oversight, accident investigation, safety management, standard operating procedures and safety programmes,” said Suman.
Shah and Mulbery are expected to meet Tourism Minister Pradip Gyawali, Mohan Adhikari, director general of CAAN.
One member of the team is leaving Nepal on November 24, while the other will attend a meeting of director general of civil aviation of South Asia slated to be held on November 27.
