KATHMANDU:

The Sirheegha Development Committee has welcomed the signing of the Comprehensive National Peace Treaty by the government and the Maoists. In a release, the committee said the signing of the treaty was a historic step. “We urge both parties to be committed to establishing lasting peace.”
