Rajbiraj, December 3 :
Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula today urged the Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha (JTMM) to act in a positive manner and take the path to peace for the address of its problems.
Speaking at a press conference here, Sitaula said: “All issues can be solved through peace talks. The government is of the view that only difficulties and loss of life and property result from conflict.”
Saying that the government was ready to solve any issue through dialogue, Sitaula said: “The JTMM which is in armed revolt in the Terai should turn over a new leaf.”
He stressed the need for both the government and the Maoists to implement the comprehensive national peace treaty in a full and complete manner. “Now, what we need is not wea-pons but peace,” he said.
Meanwhile, Rajbiraj resident Raj Kumar Tamang’s wife Meena informed Sit-aula that the whereabouts of her husband whom the JTMM abducted a week ago are still unknown.
