Kathmandu, December 8:

Minister of State for Women, Children and Social Welfare Urmila Aryal inaugurated the National Centre for Children at Risk today.

The centre, which aims to curb cases of kidnapping and trafficking in children, was established with the joint efforts of the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare, Nepal Police and NGOs. The centre will have a 15-member management board. It will have a team of seven police personnel headed by a police inspector and three administrative staffers from the Central Children Welfare Committee.

“The centre will disseminate news related to the crimes to media every hour,” centre’s officials said.
