Kathmandu, December 8:
Delegates of the National Federation of the Disabled Nepal (NFDN) met Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli on Friday with the objective of putting pressure on the government to ratify the International Declaration on Rights of the Disabled.
The declaration will be proposed in the 61st General Assembly of the UN on December 13.
Oli expressed commitment to ratify the declaration, the NFDN said in a statement.
Oli said he would lobby for the inclusion of the disabled in the interim legislature.
At least 20 countries should endorse the declaration before it can be formally proposed in the assembly.
