LOS ANGELES: Diva Jennifer Lopez and British rocker Ozzy Osbourne have become the first in a long line of celebrities to snap up the new 1,50,000-dollar Bentley Continental, the carmaker said. J-Lo and the former Black Sabbath lead singer — famed for biting the head off a bat on stage — have taken delivery of the latest Bentley Continental GT, which has a waiting list that stretches well into 2005.

Osbourne and his television star wife, Sharon, were among the first owners of the new car, which has a top speed of 320 kilometres an hour, while J-Lo has already been spotted driving hers through Beverly Hills, Bentley said. Others stars waiting to receive their new toy “within the next few weeks” include actors Denzel Washington, Eddie Murphy, James Caan and Sylvester Stallone, as well as hip-hop entertainer Nelly.

The luxury coupe was delivered to them under a Union Jack-decorated car cover in their driveway, Bentley quoted the Osbornes as saying in a press release. “I’ve arrived! I finally am the owner of the most luxurious car in the world, my brand new Bentley,” said Sharon Osbourne. — AFP
