CAN INFO-TECH 2007: Participants get ready for the big show

With less than a week left for the annual IT fair, CAN Info-Tech 2007 in Kathmandu, the participants, whether in hardware, software or in the telecom segment, are finalising their displays, working out offer prices and exploring newer ways to educate consumers of their existing schemes.

Sastra Network Solution Inc, a network solutions provider offering complete systems integration services to organisations of various genre since its inception in 2003, plans to display its wireless networking equipment like SEANO and Motorola Canopy at the CAN Info-Tech this year. Another new display would include the Hot Spot Wireless Access and Billing Software called Triple A. This application covers authentication, authorisation and accounting billing software used in hotels and ISPs.

“CAN Info-Tech is the right time for the promotion of new products and technologies in the field of information technology,” points out Kishor Panth, CEO of the company which has an annual turnover of about seven million rupees.

“We at Sastra believe that this fair is just the right pavilion for the promotion of technology. Currently Sastra provides Cisco Routers and Switches and the Wireless Devices in its Rental programme. The Equipment Rental Programme provided by our company is the first of its kind in Nepal,” he adds.

Meanwhile Vianet Communications Pvt Ltd, an internet service provider is busy firming up its promotional offers apart from promoting its existing services in cable, fibre and wireless broadbands, hosting web spaces and registering web names at the fair.

“We are working out attractive discounts of almost 50 per cent in the pre-paid dial up sector. The broadband sector is already quite cheap,” says Anup L Manandhar in charge of the marketing and advertising division.

On the hardware side, Beltronix, the 20-year old company dealing in electronics and computers, plans to showcase at least four new models of its branded computers BBM Beltronix Business Machine) which it had first launched three years ago.

“These new models have been designed keeping in mind the needs of different categories of users,” claims Girish Dutta Guhal, engineer, Beltronix. “During the fair, we will announce one year full replacement guarantee and two years of free service for the computers we supply,” he adds.

The other new product on display from Beltronix will include EATON Powerware on-line UPS with a back-up time as per client requirement. EATON powerware is supposed to be the world’s number one UPS manufacturer as per the Survey of Forst and Surveillance.

“Some of my re-sellers and clients outside the valley have informed us they will be coming over to the city to participate in this fair,” says Dahal.
