ANIJ to advocate regional autonomy

Kathmandu, January 6:
The second general assembly of the Association of Nepalese Indigenous Nationalities Journalists (ANIJ) Kathmandu district committee concluded here today with the commitment to advocate the issues of ethnic and regional autonomy in the country.
The meeting has also decided to support and participate in the programmes to create awareness among the indigenous communities about the issues of indigenous nationalities in the upcoming constituent assembly polls.
ANIJ Treasurer Manju Gurung presented financial report, while central member Subekchha Bindu said the committee should launch programmes among the indigenous nationalities living on the outskirts of the Kathmandu district.
She added that the committee should advocate the issues being raised by the indigenous nationalities.
