Kathmandu, January 14:

The agitating National Republican Sports Organisation (NRSO) and National Sports Council (NSC) today have come to an orally agreement to settle the four-point demand put forth by the NRSO. The NRSO has been locking down the NSC premises for the last few days demanding a fresh election of all the associations, make public the expenditure of the 10th South Asian Games and 15th Asian Games as well as to make public the names of officals that visited Sri Lanka and Doha for the Games.

The organisation also sought for the concrete proof of the two athletics coaches Sushil Narsingha Rana and Narayan Pradhan who were suspended following the Rajendra Bhandari doping scandal alleging for being involved in the case. The NRSO also asked to make the procedures of promotion and transfer of employees transparent. NSC had recently promoted 201 employees.

The NSC member secretary Jeevan Ram Shrestha said they have orally come to an understanding. “We will finalise it in papers on Monday,” said Shrestha adding the issue of promotion was the main demand which was sorted out. “There is already a legal provision to protest against the promotion,” he said. He also said that they have agreed to promote staffs if found discriminated. The NRSO president Dhruba Bikram Malla also confirmed about the agreement.
