Kathmandu, January 29:

The independent Dalit organisation, Society for the Liberation of Dalit Castes Nepal (SLDCN), today formally merged with the Nepal Dalit Liberation Front — a sister organisation of the CPN Maoist.

“The two Dalit organisations have formally unified in the presence of the chairman of the CPN Maoist Prachanda on January 27 and 28,” said Tilak Pariyar, the convener of the Nepal Dalit Liberation Front (United), at a press conference at his office in Pulchowk.

Priyar said the unified national conference would be held on March15-17.
