Plane diversion probe

KATHMANDU: An Indian Airlines flight to Kathmandu could not land at the Tribhuvan International Airport on Sunday due to poor visibility and landing conditions. The flight IC 813, which was supposed to land at 3.30 pm, could not do so. The passengers had to face tense moments after Captain Yadav aborted the flight after ma-king a few rounds of Kathmandu and announced the plane would be diverted to Lucknow. However, he landed the plane in New Delhi. All the pa-ssengers had to spend an hour at the Immigration and then check in again for the Nepal Airlines flight, which landed in Kathmandu at 10 pm. IA officials in New Delhi said there will be an inquiry into the episode. — HNS

Quake recorded

KATHMANDU: An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale was recorded at 1:42 pm on Monday near Api Mountain in Darchula district, the Department of Mines and Geology, National Seismological Centre, Lainchaur, said. — RSS
