Machhindra rout Sankata; RCT defeat Brigade Boys Club

Kathmandu, February 24:
Machhindra Energizer Football Club beat Sankata Kathmandu Mall Club 4-0 while Ranipokhari Corner Team (RCT) defeated already-relegated Brigade Boys Club (BBC) 4-2 in the Martyrs Memorial San Miguel ‘A’ Division League Football here at the Dasharath Stadium today.
Nirmal Tamang, Sola Otagbola, Bikash Subba and Deepak Rai scored one goal each in Machhindra’s win. Shazesh Shrestha struck twice and Rajan Gauchan and Naresh Khatri netted one each for RCT. Binod Thapa scored twice for BBC.
Nirmal Tamang gave Machhindra the lead in the 17th minute with his left-footed drive from 20 yards. Otagbola doubled the tally in the 51st minute following a setup from Buddha Chemjong. Bikash Subba added third in the 70th minute when Sankata goalie Srawan Chhetry blocked Otagbola’s shot and the ball rebounded to play. The 78th-minute substitute Deepak Rai completed the rout scoing the fourth four minutes from time.
In another game, Rajan Gauchan scored from 20 yards to put RCT ahead in the 15th minute before Binod Thapa equalised when he lobbed over advancing RCT goalkeeper Manish Hada in the 58th minute. Binod then put BBC ahead in the 67th minute utilising a pass from Prabin Manandhar, but RCT scored three goals in four minutes to win the match. Naresh Khatri levelled the scores for RCT in the 82nd minute and Shazesh Shrestha scored two goals in 85th and 86th minutes.
