Phuket, March 2:
Two superb eagles propelled Briton Oliver Wilson to the top of the leaderboard with a six-under-66 on the second day of the Johnnie Walker Classic on Friday.
Wilson eagled on two par-5 holes, the 11th and 15th, to move one shot ahead of South African Anton Haig, with a two-day total of 134. Haig produced the day’s most stunning performance, an eight-under 64. Haig’s effort tied him with Australian Greg Norman for the course record, which Norman set in 1994.
Australian James Nitties ended the day with a 67, for a two-day, eight-under-136, sharing third place with South Africa’s Retief Goosen. Round one leader Brad Kennedy of Australia collapsed for a joint 32nd place.
