Function marks Women’s Day

Urmila Aryal, state minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare, on Sunday said the legislature parliament is working to make equal participation of men and women in all the state functionaries. She also claimed that the gender based discrimination has decreased after Jana Andolan-II. She was speaking at a function organised by the Nepal Police Family Women’s Association to mark 97th International Women’s Day. She also said the government would bring laws to discourage domestic violence. “We are working to make the laws so that women don’t won’t need to return the ancestral property she acquires,” she said. Cultural show was also performed during the function.
