SC panel’s probe

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court on Tuesday formed a three-member panel headed by justice Top Bahadur Magar to investigate a bribary scandal reported in a daily newspaper on Tuesday. The paper reported tapped telephonic conversation between SC and Appellate court officials and a client for issuing a verdict in favour of the client. Justices Damodar Prasad Sharma and Ram Kumar Prasad Shah are the other members of the panel that has been given 15 days to submit its report. The conversation was recorded in CDs. — HNS

NEFIN’s concern

KATHMANDU: Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) has expressed serious concern about the increasing police interference in protest programmes being organised by the federation and the MJF. In a statement issued here on Tuesday, NEFIN president Pasang Sherpa expressed concern about the actions of the Maoists. — HNS

Book released

KATHMANDU: Senior politician Ram Hari Sharma on Tuesday launched a book Inside Out: Political Parties of Nepal, authored by Dwarika Nath Dhungel. The book is based on the worldwide survey of political parties conducted by International IDEA, an inter-governmental organisation based in Stockholm. The book has included four Nepali parties NC, NC-D, CPN-UML and RPP in its study. — HNS
