Abducted man found dead

Lekhnath, April 13 :

Rajeshwor Poudel, an employee of Prithvi Narayan Campus, who had been abducted from Pokhara’s Bindhyabasini last evening, was found dead in Lekhnath Municipality’s Begnas Lake this morning.

A driving licence, identification papers and a purse with money that were recovered from the deceased verified his identity, police said. Poudel was a staffer in the Prithvi Narayan Campus Faculty of Management and a resident of Laha Chowk in Kaski district. His body was found floating in water 20 metres away from the lake edge.

Poudel was abducted by an unknown group last evening, his family sources said. He left his house at 5:00 pm for a walk at Pokhara’s Adhikari Tole and informed relatives over his mobile phone set 8:15 pm that he had been abducted by an unknown gang. The line was disconnected abruptly as he was speaking.

Students of Prithvi Narayan Campus alleged that he was murdered and gheraoed the Kaski district police office demanding action aga-inst the guilty.

Poudel was also a Masters’ Degree student in the campus. A team led by DSP Bhoj Raj Ojha of the Kaski district police office has been formed to probe into the matter.
