Rajbiraj, April 14:
The District Education Officer (DEO) of Saptari, Nibh Raj Joshi, who was yesterday freed from the clutches of the Jay Krishna Goit-led Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha (JTMM), today said the group abducted him to warn the government against holding the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections in the Tarai region.
“There is no enmity between you and us”, Joshi quoted JTMM activists as telling him.
“They also told me that their rebellion would continue until the government prepared an environment conducive to holding talks,” Joshi told a press conference here.
Joshi added that he was taken to different villages every night.
Joshi, who was abducted last Saturday for allegedly not providing a donation of Rs 5 million, said the JTMM cadres did not demand the sum from him while in captivity.
He also dismissed irregularity allegations levelled against him by the JTMM.
