Fate of unrest victims

KATHMANDU: The meeting of the Finance and Infrastructure Committee on Tuesday discussed the fate of victims of unrest. Talking to the daily, Minister for Physical Planning and Works Hisila Yami said the meeting discussed means to provide facilities for those who have been affected by the unrest in country, mainly in the Tarai region. Minister for Water Resources Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Minister for Culture Prithvi Subba Gurung, Minister for Agricuture and Cooperative Chhabila Bishwakarma and Minister for Environment Mahanta Thakur and others, including Yami, participated in the meeting.

Idol found

RAJBIRAJ: An idol was found in a pond situated in front of the Chhinnamasta temple in Rajbiraj on Monday. The 21-inch long and 10-inch wide idol, resembling a human figure with four hands and sitting on a crocodile, was found during an excavation. “This idol is an ancient one. Perhaps, it’s the idol of Kamalamai goddess,” said an elderly person, Brij Ramji. However, main priest of the Chhinnamasta temple, Mahakanta Thakur said the idol is either of Kamala or Kali goddess. — HNS

CIAA books doctor

KATHMANDU: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Monday filed a case at the Special Court against Medical Superintendent of the Siraha Hospital Dr Murali Prasad Singh on the charge of submitting fake academic certificate. Dr Singh is a 10th level civil servant under the Health Ministry. — RSS
