Kathmandu, May 19:

Cadres of the Young Communist League (YCL), youth wing of the CPN-Maoist, today beat up ex-policeman Lokraj Baral at Shantibatka, Ratnapark, following heated arguement among them, police said.

“We reached the spot immediately after we received the information. But, the YCL cadres fled the scene,” SP Dhak Bahadur Karki at the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Range, said.

He said they found Regmi lying on the ground with his hands and legs tied and was also injured. “Search is on to nab the culprits,” he said.

Meanwhile, a body of a man was found under the overhead bridge at Jamal this morning. “The body is yet to be identified and the cause of the death is unknown,” an official at the Metropolitan Police Section, Durbarmarg, said.
