The Conflict Study Centre (CSC) has asked senior political leaders to “correct” themselves to prevent monarchists from raising their heads.

It has also urged the US ambassador and his allies to stop backing the monarchy.

People are beginning to understand that “dirty games” only benefit the monarchists, who stand to benefit from political instability, the CSC said in its study.

“For a new Nepal, Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala must stop advocating favouritism, individualistic leadership and the monarchy.”

The CSC also requested the CPN-UML general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal to free himself from its aimless, confused and power-hungry policies.

The CSC also suggested Maoist chairman Prachanda to “refrain from violence and assume a more humble stance.”

Suggesting the US ambassador James F Moriarty and his allies to “give up” their insistence on the “hegemonic mantra” of a unified backing for the institution of monarchy, the CSC requested the Asian Development Bank (ADB) not to resort to what it called “political

encroachment.”
