Dacoits kill two villagers

Nepalgunj, May 26:
Two villagers were killed and six injured in a clash with armed dacoits at Suryalapurba village in Bankatti VDC-6 of Banke early this morning.
Locals Ram Bilash Kadu, 35, and Patan Kurmi, 65, were killed when a gang of 20 dacoits opened fire on the locals who had gathered to resist them at around 2:30 am, DSP Kuber Kathayat at the District Police Office said. Kadu died on the spot while Kurmi died undergoing treatment at Bheri Zonal Hospital, Kathayat added.
Among the injured, Jeetan Kadu has been taken to Lucknow for treatment while Bancharaj Nau and Ramanandan Miyan are being treated at Bheri Zonal Hospital, police said. The dacoits managed to flee after the incident but failed to take away anything, DSP Kathayat said.
