Trees spew water, folk get the quakes

The credulous are thronging to worship three Dabdabe trees as water is spewing ferom them at Kamaldihi of Byas municipality in Tanahun district since June 2.
People are also surprised. “Over 50,000 people have offered puja here since June 2. People are trooping in from Lamjung, Gorkha, Kaski, Syangja, Baglung, Parbat, Chitwan, Kathmandu, Birgunj, and even Indian border towns,” said a local, Khem Raj Adhikari.
People have different views regarding the incident. Some take it as a sign of great disaster while others think it is a token of good luck.
Some start trembling after worshipping there, locals said.
Devi Gurung, who arrived from Kolkata today, said: “I came here to worship the trees because I had a dream where I was told to visit the site.” She said: “I am a Bhole Baba devotee from Kolkata.”
People began getting the quakes since Friday. Locals go to the trees in the morning to worship and take bath. They clean their houses using the water coming out of the trees.
