LALITPUR: Young Hearts beat Gyan Niketan 37-29 and entered the semi-finals of the first Lalitpur Districtwide Basketball Championship. Migma Sherpa of Young Hearts and Rochak of Gyan Niketan scored 16 points each. In other quarter-finals, Ashok Bhattarai netted 17 points as RIBS beat Malpi 52-6, Shridiwa thrashed Shuvatara 36-8 riding on 14 points from Dawa while Anil netted 16 points as Wilson beat Gyanodaya 48-22. — HNS

Nominations

KATHMANDU: Nepal Chess Association (NCA) president Sitaram Agrahari nominated Manoj Chitrakar in the NCA executive committee. Agrahari nominated Chitrakar, who hails from Keltole, Kathmandu, as one of the two members to be selected by the NCA president. Meanwhile, National Sports Council on Tuesday nominated former national boxer Rajesh Gurung of Pokhara as the vice president of Nepal Boxing Association. — HNS
