BUC refute reports

Lalitpur, June 27:

Former officials of Boys Union (BUC) in a statement on Wednesday refuted the media reports that the club would not participate in professional football.

Referring to the statement of Bodh Bahadur Raut, former BUC president, at a press meet on Monday where he said about boycotting football, the former BUC officials clarified it as a personal view.

“No individual has the right to represent the voice of the club at this moment in the absence of BUC executive committee,” the statement said. The members BUC ad hoc committee resigned two months earlier. They also term the act of using the club’s logo as unlawful.

The statement was signed by former presidents Yagya Lal Shrestha, Arun Shankar Vaidhya and Kuber Bahadur Raut, general secretary Manoj Manandhar, vice-president Mani Kunwar,treasurer Mahesh Shrestha and member Babu Kaji Maharjan.

Five A Division clubs, including BUC, had threatened to boycott the profession football saying that unless the concerned authorities mend their ways they would stay away from football. They were seeking amendmends in ANFA constituent and to create financially conducive environment for the clubs.
