Match abandoned

GLASGOW: A limited overs match between India and Pakistan was abandoned without a ball being bowled on Tuesday because of the wet outfield. A morning downpour in Glasgow soaked the outfield and play was scheduled to start at 10:45am local time, but umpires decided to wait until 2pm to see if play was possible. The charity fundraising match was abandoned 30 minutes later. India and Pakistan were invited by Prince Charles to mark the 60th anniversary of both countries’ independence. — AP
