Kathmandu, July 6:
Chairman of the Rashtriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Pashupati Shamsher Rana today appreciated efforts being made by the Minister for Physical Planning and Works, Hisila Yami, to bring water in the valley from Melamchi.
“We congratulate Yami and wish for her success. We hope she will make the dream of the Kathmanduites come true,” he said, while addressing a book-releasing programme here.
Dr Narayan Khadka of the NC-D said that along with the efforts on the Melamchi front, the government should also pay attention to treating wastewater, which is directly drained into rivers.
He, however, said that the locals of Sindhupalchowk from where the water will be pumped are not getting anything in return. Krishna KC, the chairman of the Bagmati Water Improvement Project, said treatment of wastewater would prove beneficial.
