1000-yr-old tree falls

SYANGJA: A 1000-year-old tree at Latrepipal in Pauwegaude VDC of Syangja district toppled of its own on Tuesday evening. Locals said the 100 feet high tree with its overhand spread over 200 square metres crashed though there was neither a hurricane nor storm. — HNS

Man hurt in blast

Dhangadhi: Bhuwan Raj Neupane, 38, of Bhajani VDC was hurt when an unclaimed bomb hidden in the grass near his house went off. Neupane’s wife and daughter said he held the bomb in his palm and pulled out the pin. The ensuing blast blew off two of his fingers and injured his hand. — HNS
