Jakarta, July 18:

South Korea squeezed into the Asian Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday on a 1-0 win over co-host Indonesia and courtesy of Saudi Arabia’s 4-0 demolition of Bahrain.

The 2002 World Cup semi-finalists now travel to Kuala Lumpur for a showdown on Sunday with tree-time champion Iran, which finished undefeated atop Group C after closing with a 2-0 win over co-hosts Malaysia.

As Group D winner, Saudi Arabia remains in Indonesia for a quarter-final against Uzbekistan, a 3-0 winner over 2004 finalist China in the last of the Group C preliminaries.

Defending champion Japan finished on top in Group A and will meet Group B runner-up Australia at Hanoi on Saturday, when Group A winner Iraq takes on Vietnam at Bangkok.
