Tansen: After swinging the audiences in Dhangadhi, Nepalgunj, Butwal, Bhairahawa and Pokhara to its melodious tunes, Nepathya, the band on a campaign — ‘Education for Peace’ — landed in Tansen on May 8. The concert that started with a song by Amrit Gurung calling for peace in the country was again a huge success with a turn up of a large crowd. The concert — Nepathya Sangeet Yatra 2061 — was jointly organised by Palpa Jaycees and Janata Higher Secondary School and was held in conference hall of Tansen Municipality.
Amrit Gurung sang more than two dozen songs and kept the audience spellbound. As Gurung said that Nepali people have been longing for peace in the country and are eager to hear the jingles of peace bells, many among the audiences could not hold back their tears. Gurung added, “We would not have to ask for peace time and again had it only been reinstated.” The audiences of around 2000 sat throughout the concert despite the simmering heat and enjoyed the concert. — HNS
