Multiple mishaps claim four lives

Bhairahawa, August 18:

At least four persons were killed and four hurt in four separate road accidents in Palpa and Rupandehi districts within the last 24 hours.

Binda Chaudhary, 30, a resident of Makrahr-8 was killed and Sipira Chaudhary and Kolari Chaudhary were injured when a jeep skidded off the road at Char Number area of Rupandehi this morning, police said.

In another incident, Radhadevi Yadav of Adarshnagar was killed on the spot when a tractor on way to Lumbini from Bhairahawa met with an accident at Adarshnagar area this morning, police said, adding injured Divya Devi Yada was undergoing treatment in a local hospital.

In Palpa, Lila Gahatraj, 30, a resident of Tansen-11 was killed after a motorcycle slipped on the road, the Palpa District Police Office (PDPO) said. Injured motorcyclist Ganesh BK, 31, was admitted to the United Mission Hospital in Palpa.

Similarly, Kamala Basnet, 40, of Khasyauli VDC-1 was killed when a bus en route to Gulmi from Butwal met with an accident due to brake failure at Deurali village development committee-8 last night, the PDPO said.
